| A. "Creating
Meaningful Reports for Physicians" |
|
Michael Vigoda, MD,
MBA |
| |
| Physician practices can
benefit from common business methods such as
strengths/weaknesses/opportunities/threat (SWOT) analysis and
performance improvement strategies. These tools require
transformation of operational data (e.g., productivity,
financial, quality) into concise reports. Review the barriers
facing physicians and administrators who attempt meaningful
communication. Transform existing data into informative
reports, recognize proven strategies for creating successful
reporting mechanisms, explain the importance of information
management, and integrate reporting into your business
objectives and your mission statement. The presentation of
many examples will give you strategies for creating
meaningful reports for physicians.
Dr. Vigoda is currently the Director,
Center for Informatics and Perioperative Management in the
Department of Anesthesia at the University of Miami. He is a
board certified pediatrician and anesthesiologist. He has
practiced pediatric anesthesia since 1994. He works in the OR
3 days/week as a pediatric anesthesiologist and 2 days/week as
the Director of the Center for Informatics. |

activities of medical group practices and what resources are
available to clarify these federal initiatives
