Employee Privacy and the
Modern HR Department: Phishing, Pharming, Identity Theft,
Camera Phones - What's a Poor HR Manager to Do? This
session addresses the many challenges employers face because
of the technology explosion and its effect on employee
privacy. Plus, Case or No Case? This entertaining but
educational parody of the popular game show Deal or No Deal
provides a look at the 'lighter side" of employment law.
Mr. Burkholder represents employers involving ADA, FMLA,
harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other employment
issues. Mr. Burkholder also assists employers with employment
policies and procedures, reductions-in-force, investigations,
discipline, terminations, and all other workplace issues. He
is a frequent lecturer on employment law topics and provides
supervisor training on a variety of issues. He has been
selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in
America and in MO-KAN Superlawyers. His association
memberships include the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel
and the Defense Research Institute. |

A discussion regarding the
latest P4P activities and how healthcare in the U.S. will be
affected.
Michael Samms started his career at age 15 as a police
dispatcher, working for the Ulysses Police Dapartment in
Ulysses, Kansas, a small community in southwest Kansas. By age
19 he was a Police Officer and Deputy Sheriff. He was an
Emergency Medical Technician at age 20, serving on the Grant
County Ambulance Service and also worked on Search and Rescue.
He owned his own retail store by age 21, and was later a
banker, healthcare executive, a Chief Operating officer and
Chief Executive Officer of successful start-up and turnaround
organizations. He was the CEO of the largest Physician
Hospital Organization in the midwest. He volunteered with the
American Red Cross for over 10 years in Disaster Services and
has been an adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America for
the past several years. He has led teams in successful
turn-around business and start-up ventures. He is well
regarded as a leader of people and enjoys developing the
talents of others to they can accomplish more than believed
possible. Michael currently lives in Overland Park, Kansas,
with his wife and two children |

An informal presentation -
compliance plans and what the government expects of clinics.
David is a shareholder in Fredrikson & Bryon's Health Law
Group and helped establish its Health Care Fraud & Compliance
Group. David assists clinics, hospitals, and other health care
entities negotiate the maze of health care regulations,
providing advice about risk. Glaser graduated from the
University of Michigan Law School, J.D., 1992, cum laude. He
is a Phi Beta Kappa and a National Merit Scholar. |
