MGMA - ACMPE
MGMA and the American College of Medical Practice Executives
Dear KMGMA Members -
If you are like me, you come to work every day, do your job (on most days probably several others' jobs as well) and never stop to question whether you might be considered a "successful medical practice management executive". One thing is for sure; we all work in a fast paced, ever growing and expanding field where change has a different meaning than a nickel, two dimes and a quarter.
Have you ever wondered how to objectively define your role and responsibilities and what qualities, qualifications and competencies you must have to be a successful practice management executive?
ACMPE (American College of Medical Practice Executives) has done just that with the certification and Fellowship process using the Body of Knowledge. The Body of Knowledge represents a compilation of work that defines and legitimizes the skill sets necessary to be successful in the profession.
The path to board certification and Fellowship begins with a commitment from you; a career decision, to move to the next level in your personal and professional development.
As your State forum rep, it is my job to assist you with that career goal. Over the past two years I have offered online study groups to assist members in preparing to sit for the certification exams. If you have an interest in a study group, I am always available for questions, so please feel free to contact me if you are interested in beginning the study group process.
Sincerely,
Tracy Bird, FACMPE
